Let’s get a basic fact out of the way first!
During the summer months and often well into winter, there will be a warm welcome at The Meadow Barns for small groups, families and especially teams that want to be trained in the Learn 2 Tread Lightly scheme. Arrangements and pricing will be ‘bespoke’ … as you see above, we can cater for all types and ages of group. These were local Mums and their Babes in Arms! The charge depends on how much you bring for yourself (refreshments etc) and how much professional input you want. Over the past few years we have taken ages to develop new styles of learning and now are pleased to offer opportunities carefully planned to help groups keep costs down.
The newest model for L2TL only works for a specific type of group. The people can be very young right through to Golden Oldies, but all need to be motivated to take on the challenge of self-directed learning using a borrowed Learning Kit, with maps, pictures, text and films or podcast recordings on a re-deployed old device, like a Kindle, in a rucksack.
To do this Learning Adventure for a half day generally costs £20, as a cash deposit with option to claim back a maximum of £10. However, be prepared! You can expect strong encouragement to donate the refund or put it towards a set of achievement cards for 5 more activities and membership of L2TL club, spread over the whole year. Still, as both locals and tourists alike will doubtless be aware, this is way cheaper than other days out, especially the well-known Visitor Attractions, a few miles away!

Half Term is almost upon us and during that week the focus, as frequently this year, will be at Luxulyan, where happily we already work in collaboration with a lovely team of mixed ages, at the Village Shop. Thank you, Kay and colleagues! Thanks also to Shelley and her outdoor team, for allowing us to run this event at LEGGS Field.
Booking System
The new L2TL booking system has been much discussed here at The Meadow Barns and probably in a while all will be done online. But for now, we’ve said let’s keep it plain and simple. If a group wants to come it’s just a case of sending off a Text to Caroline’s number – 07967 653346. Tell her the family or group name, place and time requested, plus any other relevant fact (especially if it includes a nut allergy!)
This particular event is FREE, but do bring cash to donate into our green bucket, if you can.
No Shows
We will keep a record of any group that books a time and fails to turn up. Unless there’s an excellent reason, there will not be a second chance, sorry.
