ATTENTION From August through to 19th September 2021 all overnight bookings are through Pitch UP. The link you need for this is in BOOKINGS or go directly here https://www.pitchup.com/campsites/England/South_West/Cornwall/Par/the-meadow-barns/.
Although there is a limit of 12 people on site at any one time, a more realistic top number for staying overnight is 10. See below how the Fig Tree lawn can accommodate 4 x 2 people tents or any similar permutations; it is just over 9m by 7m. This is the area that goes with the Old Cow Shed Bunkhouse. In the event of bad weather, bed rolls may be moved under cover, in the large miner’s shed.
A second tent pitch is on Buttercup Lawn, with private use of facilities in the neighbouring garage/workshop. It is also permitted to sleep on the floor in the garage, if the weather turns very wet and windy.
In the Old Cow Shed are 2 generous size single beds, a piping hot solar heated shower, plus living and dining area, including a small TV. Finally, there is a well-equipped kitchen, with a full size fridge freezer, microwave, Belling type electric stove, pots n pans, crockery and cutlery.
In 2020 the second indoor space e.g. the garage/workshop, was mostly painted white inside for use as a venue, to make a dance film! But today it provides further basic accommodation. There is an electric shower, a mini-kitchen with microwave and a camping stove for use outdoors. Please note, if you plan to eat outside you will need to bring your own picnic plates, cups etc. A complete list of items provided & what you need to bring will be emailed when your booking is received.
Mobile phone signals are good but, for now, there is no Wifi.

The posh cottage Woodland suite and the Creative Space shown above, are not currently available to guests, due to exterior walls being re-pointed. Hopefully this will not take too many weeks.
The shower room for Woodland Suite has a really spacious feel, with a number of quirky features, such as the arrow-slit windows and hand-crafted taps in bronze and copper. We’ve used traditional materials like these throughout the house.
Large hall with pellet boiler
In the hall or atrium of the cottage you’ll see an unusual feature of the Woodland Suite – the green energy biomass system. The ‘brain’ of the MCZ boiler, imported from Italy by UK company https://www.specflue.com, is programmed to kick in when required, as a top up of our solar PV system. So the boiler will not be busy on sunny days, but has to work more frequently in cold or wet, windy weather. However, the golden glow is really cosy then, so make yourself a hot drink and enjoy!
