BARNS We have 2 granite barns to book, with a number of price options available, depending on how green you are willing to be vs the number of extras you would like to enjoy.
First is the Cow Shed self-catering option. Indoors are 2 generous size single beds in separate rooms, and a possible extra sleeping space on the long sofa (see picture right, below).
The Cow Shed – good size bed in a single room, with original beams.
Long view of kitchen diner, towards sofa and 2nd bed.
The bathroom has a powerful shower with solar-heated water and high level fan heater. The kitchen is well equipped with ample choice of pots n pans, crockery and cutlery, a microwave, a Belling-type electric stove and a small fridge- freezer.
If you need to catch up with the world, then there is a good mobile phone signal, a small TV and free guest Wifi.
in the Cottage
The 2nd overnight option is in the cottage, a conversion which was completed in 2019. A little self-contained suite of hall, bathroom and spacious king-size bedroom is now available for autumn short breaks (in the cottage picture above the suite is downstairs, behind both windows and the large glass doors).
There is a good mobile phone signal, a small TV and free guest Wifi.
You may opt to bring your own breakfast cereal, using the tea, coffee, milk (in small fridge), cutlery, bowls and kettle provided to make a very simple breakfast. Or choose to purchase something more substantial – cereals or porridge, a bowl of fresh fruit and an ‘eat in your hand’ tasty Cooked Breakfast Muffin. If you like bacon, sausage, tomato, mushrooms and an egg this is what you will find encased in a half and half white/wholemeal muffin mix. One of the ingredients, a very special, secret Cornish type sausage, from Charlie Harris Butchers, is really delicious!
The shower room for Woodland Suite has a really spacious feel, with a number of quirky features, such as the arrow-slit windows and hand-crafted taps in bronze and copper. We’ve used traditional materials like these throughout the house.
Green Energy pellet boiler
In the hall you’ll see an unusual feature of the Woodland Suite – the green energy biomass system with a MCZ boiler, imported from Italy by UK company https://www.specflue.com. You can see a picture of this area when you select the Green Build tab, above.
